Action Camp is a three day residential event aimed at tenants of Social Housing, primarily but not exclusively aged between 11 and 25. The camp specialises in vocational training for disadvantaged or excluded young people.

The camp delivers important life-long learning in a fun and entertaining way, it is often the only holiday experience these young people have. Whilst remaining an enjoyable holiday experience, there are number of key target themes the camp aims to deliver:

  • Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC) Education
  • Anti Social Behaviour
  • Healthy Living
  • Citizenship
  • Financial Inclusion

Over the last three years Action Camp has developed into a significant project with over 2,000 attendees from across all 22 unitary authorities. Action Camp is particularly successful at engaging hard to reach young people, with the vast majority of attendees pledging to return the following year.

New features are regularly introduced and this year the camp included dedicated Family Camps and Career Camps covering topics such as:

  • Anti Social Behaviour
  • Budgeting
  • First Aid
  • Literacy
