To support local community engagement, develop partnerships and add value to wider community projects.

Engage with the local communities, our tenants, our staff and our supply chain partners in order to make a positive impact within the Rhondda Cynon Taff area.

Stakeholder engagement is very important to us, it helps us to evolve our business through continual development.

Through collaborative working with our key stakeholders, we deliver social regeneration through; digital inclusion, training and employment, and volunteering.

Digital Inclusion

Our digital inclusion initiative, the DO I.T Project, helps people of all ages, teaching them how to get the best out of modern technology, build confidence and make technology help them in their everyday lives.

The training gives people the confidence and skills they need to use technologies in order to need the demands of this digital age. To date, the DO I.T Project has supported over 2,000 people and continues to deliver a variety of services with our tenants and community.

Training and Employment

Through our multi-award winning social enterprise, Grow Enterprise Wales (GrEW), we offer accredited training and employment opportunities to those furthest from the job market.  GrEW delivers a supportive service aimed at improving employability, life and basic skills whilst offering an alternative to mainstream education. GrEW also provides individuals with the unique opportunity to receive free driving lessons through its very own driving school, in return for volunteering for at least 15 hours each week.

The GrEW Driving School was set up in 2013 in partnership with local car dealership Griffin Mill Garages. The school has since delivered over 2,000 hours of driving lessons, clocking up 59,000 miles and helping 29 people pass their driving test.

Working in partnership with Business in the Community (BITC) we run an employee volunteering programme.  Each year RCT Homes Group participates in the UK’s only national employee volunteering day – BITC’s Give & Gain Day.  It is an effective way to have a real impact on a community in just one day. The annual event brings together employees from throughout the organisation, as well as our partner organisations. It providing a fantastic opportunity for businesses and individuals to give something back to the communities we live and work in.
