The RCT Homes 'More than... Award' recognises our outstanding partners for their contributions during the period of 2007-2012. We are proud of the way in which we've sought to work with our partners, and the way our partners have sought to work with us.

Over £1,075,000 (inc. rebates) has been contributed from our partners in this period as part of our Major Improvements Programme, CSR activities and regeneration projects. This outstanding sum of contributions includes 938 voluntary hours, £116,000 worth of materials and labour and over £24,000 of donations.

To date our partners have helped us support more than 30 major projects and organisations as well as dozens of other causes throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Some of the larger projects include:

  • BITC Give & Gain Days
  • Children in Need
  • Grow Enterprise Wales Driving School
  • RCT Homes Apprenticeship Schemes
  • Rhydyfelin AFC
  • Tenant Fun Days
  • Uganda Project
  • Pen Dinas Youth Club

“I think we’ve really done something different, and I think other people are now are realising that the way we’ve delivered our improvement programmes over the past five years has been different. One of the main things for us as a community mutual is that we wanted to involve our tenants and we wanted to make sure that, every time we did something, we put more value back than just the actual project itself. Over the last five years, what we’ve found is that the more we’ve worked with all of our contractors and partners, the more they’ve wanted to do.”

“The more has all gone into our communities, whether it is though financial donations, through our charity, through participating in give and gain days, through donating equipment or materials. The most exciting thing for me is how people have wanted to work together, and that’s enabled us to achieve some significant community impacts that wouldn’t have happened if we’d tried to do it on our own.”

“The More than awards is not a competition; it’s our way of saying thank you and giving our suppliers and evidence base that they can take to future customers.”
